Congratulations to former SABR – Team Boca player Mandy Freeman and her NY/NJ Gotham FC teammates for winning the NWSL championship on Saturday night!
Midfielder Rose Lavalle scored in the 80th minute to give NY/NJ Gotham FC a 1-0 win over the Washington Spirit at PayPal Park in San Jose, California.
The goal and the win made former SABR – Team Boca player Mandy Freeman a National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) champion for a second time.
Freeman, a team captain in her eighth season, won her second NWSL championship as she helped the team to a clean sheet and enabled Gotham to win for a second time in three seasons.
“I think we are so authentically us and every day we get to grind to get a result like this,” said Freeman, Gotham FC captain and the longest tenured active player. “And like Rose said, to get a result like this is just icing on the cake for the season.”

Congrats to three members of the SABR – Team Boca ECNL RL 2012G who participated in the US Club Soccer’s Florida id2 National Identification event, co-hosted by Florida Club Leagues, on Saturday in Orlando.
The US Club Soccer’s id2 National Identification and Development Program Selection process was established in 2004, and it provides an opportunity for the country’s elite youth soccer players to be identified and developed, and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs.
The id2 Program is an Olympic Development Program (ODP) approved by the United States Olympic Committee and the U.S. Soccer Federation.
