Congrats to coach Mario and the Team Boca ECNL RL G12 squad, who won the finals of the U14 Superior Orange Division of the Jefferson Cup with a 2-1 victory over Maryland United FC 2012 G ECNL in a matchup of 4-0 teams at the River City Sportsplex in Midlothian, VA, on Sunday.

Team Boca ECNL RL G12 seized a 1-0 halftime lead when Alice Vieira played a through ball to her sister Maite, and she scored with her left foot to the far post.

After Maryland ECNL RL G12 tied the match with a penalty kick midway through the second half, Kate Benavente put Team Boca ahead with a looping shot over the keeper’s head from just outside the 18 with four minutes remaining.

The Team Boca 2012 ECNL RL and Team Boca 2013 ECNL RL have fared well in the prestigious Jefferson Cup this weekend (March 14-15).

The Team Boca ECNL RL G13 squad relied on a goal by Jillian Kudika (video), along with Ella Newman and Adriana Diaz, to earn a 3-1 victory over the Oakwood Soccer Club 13G GA (CT), in the opening game at the Jefferson Cup on Saturday.

They will close out the competition with a game on Sunday against Penn Fusion SA ECNL RL 13G GA (PA) Sunday at 10 a.m. at Stratton Park in North Chesterfield (VA).

The Team Boca ECNL RL G12 squad won both of their games on Saturday, defeating PDA White Shore (NJ), 4-0, and then 2-1 over Charlotte SA (NC). They close out action with a group play game against Century United Soccer GA (PAW) at 11:30 on Sunday.

A victory in the U14 Superior Orange Division contest will advance them to the final at 2:30 p.m. All games are held at the River City Sportsplex in Midlothian, VA.

The 2026 Jefferson Cup, one of the nation's largest youth soccer tournaments, features nearly 2,000 teams (1,978) in Richmond, VA, across four weekends. The Boys Weekend opened with 510 teams, while the Girls Showcase Weekend is scheduled with nearly 500 teams. The event includes U9-U14 and U15-U19 age groups.
