Good Luck to former Team Boca goalkeeper Catalina Perez as she will once again represent Colombia in the two upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.Perez, who plays professionally for Racing Club de Strasbourg, was called up to play in the two World Cup 2027 qualifying matches against Uruguay (June 5, 6 p.m.) and Paraguay. (June 9, time TBA).She has 27 caps for the senior national team, including representing the Colombia U20s in the 2010 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2016 Summer Olympics, the 2022 Copa America Femenina, the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the 2024 Summer Olympics. The top two teams in the CONMEBOL standings qualify directly for the 2027 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The 3rd- and 4th-place teams advance to the global FIFA Play-Off Tournament, which will finalize the remaining spots in early 2027. Good luck to Maiya and Cali Castillo, who left for Chile on Monday to train at Everton in Chile for the next two months. Maiya will be training with the U20 team, while Cali is training with the U17s.“My goal is to get better by playing daily in a professional club, learning the language, and getting looked at by the U20 national team,” said Maiya, who is a freshman on the FAU Women’s team and a member of the Team Boca ECNL 2008 squad.
